- Syenite sample approximately 1" (3cm) in size
- Igneous rock comprised primarily of feldspar
- Perfect size for use in classroom identification labs and exercises, correlates well to Next Generation Science Standards Evidence Statements
- Phaneritic, very felsic rock
- Specimen comes in clear labeled and barcoded bag for ideal storage
Syenite is a variety of felsic igneous rock heavily composed of feldspar. Though formed similarly to granite, the higher aluminum content of syenite indicates a more evolved magma. This sample can be used to great effect in classes regarding igneous petrology and volcanology, and is a good sample to include in identification exercises. Each sample is approximately 1" long and comes in a labeled plastic bag.
