- Students can place the compass with the needle parallel to the coil, pass a current through, and measure the angle of deflection
- Features a non-magnetic base, non-magnetic stand, non-magnetic plane, 4" compass, and copper magnet wire
- Sturdy heavy duty base measures 8" x 4.75"
- Stands approximately 9.25" tall
This Tangent Galvanometer measures an electric current by determining the direction and magnitude of the horizontal components of the Earth's magnetic field. Students can learn about the tangent law of magnetism by placing the compass with the needle parallel to the coil, passing an unknown current through, and measuring the angle of deflection.
The item measures 4.75" by 8" and stands approximately 9.75" tall.
The kit contains the tangent galvanometer non-magnetic base, non-magnetic stand, non-magnetic compass plane, copper magnetic wire, and a 4" compass.
